Getting up to speed....

Hi Everyone! =)

Just wanted to give you a quick history into my little family!

Nery and I have been together for 5 years now.  We have known each other since 2006. For those who don't know we met online (on MySpace to be exact!) through my friend Diane.  He messaged her, and I was the one who answered the message and directed him to my page.  From there we began an online friendship.  Messaging and chatting and getting to know one another.  After about 6 months of chatting we FINALLY spoke on the phone and met in person shortly after.  We started dating and made it official on March, 4th 2007.

At this point in our lives, I was working retail but retail stinks so he got me a better job working for a cruise line, and Nery had just started working at a travel agency, but his real passion is comedy. He is a stand up comedian working at comedy clubs all over South Florida.
We dated for about 2 1/2 years and decided we wanted to live together.  We moved into our first place in May of 2009 with our fur baby, Lady.  She was about a year old when we moved.

She is gorgeous, with a fabulous personality and ears for days!! A few months later, we realized that Lady needed a buddy and adopted Baloo from the shelter

Baloo is a character.  We should have known that he was a handful before we even brought him home because the shelter had named him Megatron (!!!) and had been adopted and returned to the shelter twice.  That last fact broke my heart and made the decision for me. And then we were a little family of 4! =)

We lived in our apartment for over 2 years.  Worked, vacationed and made some great memories together.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Love Lady's Kisses

Celebrating our Christmas Tree!!

Happy New Year!!

2011 was a major, MAJOR year for us! I turned 25 in January and we celebrated on a weekend cruise with my family and friends.  A couple of weeks after the cruise I found out I was pregnant! But unfortunately the pregnancy didn't stick. Nery and I were devastated.  We picked up the pieces and started to move on. Shortly after Nery decided he wanted to keep me around forever and he popped the question on March 17th! He made the sweetest video with pictures of us and at the end he asked me to circle yes or no! And of course I said YES!!!

It was wonderful!! Earlier in the day he had spoken with my father to get his permission and my dad suggested he propose at my parents house.  He was also able to get one of my best friends to be there to record my reaction.. and my mom's! She wasn't in on the secret either!! lol

After the engagement came engagement photos..

We had such a great time at the party, and the food and drinks were amazing!! I can't thank everyone enough for coming to celebrate such a special time with us! We are very blessed to have the family and friends that we do..

And then came the biggest, bestest, most wonderful surprise of the year!!

Our little Sofia

See, no one mentioned to me that you are extra fertile right after a miscarriage, so no one was being as careful as we should have been, but you know what, I wouldn't change it for anything.  At this point I should mention that we found out about the baby right after the engagement!

My pregnancy was amazing! It was so easy!! No morning sickness, no crazy cravings, no nothing!! Or, as my dad says, it was a boring pregnancy! Sofia was shy while she was in my belly.  Nery only felt her a few times, and my mom barely felt her at all.  My poor dad only felt her hiccuping! =/ I have to say that I was a little happy that I couldn't share her.. I know it was selfish, but I knew that once she got here I would have to share her with everyone, so I was able to enjoy every minute all to myself!!! I miss being pregnant already! lol

My friends/bridesmaids hosted a beautiful baby shower for me at my mom's house and I can't thank them enough!

I miss my belly!! =|

Sofie was born at 41 weeks, on November 8, 2011.  I had to be induced because she was late and wasn't showing any signs that she wanted to leave the comfort of my belly! I checked into the hospital at 9.30 pm on November 7th.  With the Pitocin I made it all the way to 10 cms, however, little Sofia had to be difficult.  Her head was tilted to the side.  My doctor advised me that the best option for us would be a C-Section.  She said that I could try to push, but I would be pushing for 3 to 4 hours and end up hurting myself and stressing the baby. I burst into tears the minute she suggested it and I didn't stop crying until I was in recovery.

He got to cut the cord =)

My little family
Sofia Gabriella Saenz was born on 11.8.11 at 8.12 pm weighing 8 lbs 15 ozs. A lot of the details of the day are a little fuzzy to me because I said yes to the epidural (I am not brave and have nothing to prove to anyone!!) but I do remember the doctor saying that she was "sunny side up"! That made me smile.

All the nurses and staff at the hospital were so nice and helpful.  They made us feel very comfortable while we were there.

Thanksgiving, Christmas and the New Year were so memorable in 2011 because they were our first as a family.  I'll share more photos and videos of her soon.. I think I over did it with pictures on this post! =)

Sofia is my sunshine, my world, my everything and I am loving watching her change every single day! Just one more picture!
