Ooops.. Forgot some stuff! lol

There are a few things I left out.. So many things happened it's hard to keep them straight! Well that and that's what happens when you are writing at midnight and can't keep your eyes open! lol

So, we got engaged and found out about the baby in March, had the engagement pictures done in April and the engagement party in May. Also in May, my in-laws decided to completely retire and move back to Nicaragua. That was very bittersweet for us.  Bitter because I was excited that Sofia was going to have both sets of grandparents in the same place, since I didn't.  I had my paternal grandparents here (well, in West Palm Beach, FL.) and my maternal grandparents in Venezuela. It was sweet because his parents asked us to move into their house.  We went from a small 2 bedroom apartment to a huge 4 bedroom house, with a giant yard for Lady and Baloo to play in!! We moved into the house the last week of June. =)

Towards the end of May, we decided to get legally married and have the wedding ceremony after the baby was born. I did not want to be a pregnant bride.. that depresses me a bit! It seems so like "oh shit! we need to get married now" and I did NOT want that!  So, on June 3rd, 2011 we went down to the court house and made it official!

It was just us and our parents! Simple pimple! So now we have a wedding to plan and I want to keep it as small, intimate and simple as possible! I already bought my wedding dress and I have pictures and videos of the shopping experience that I will share AFTER the wedding! The best part of buying that dress was having my Sofie bear there with me, along with my mom and my friend Patty! Oh.. and my mom's friend and her daughter who happened to be prom dress shopping at the same store! A happy coincidence! 

Lady and Baloo keep me on my toes.. Shortly after we moved in to the house poor Lady had an allergic reaction to something (she either ate a bug or got stung by something) in the yard and her face and neck got soo swollen!! She looked like she had a tennis ball in her throat.. I was 6 months pregnant, home alone because my hubby was traveling for work, and had to take her and Baloo to the vet (Baloo had a mild skin irritation, so I figured I would just take both!) Que desastre!!! But at least they both got treated..  

Side note - Baloo is very adventurous and likes to escape.. he digs holes under the fence.. a few days ago I chased him for a block and a half and then had to carry his ass back home.. and earlier today he decided to venture out on his own again, but I was able to lure my fatty back into the house with some beggin' strips!! 

In September we had the baby shower.. Like I said before my friends/bridesmaids - Lulu my Maid of Honor, and Patty and Jill - hosted the shower for me at my mom's house! We made it a "green" theme, meaning that all the decorations and centerpieces were made from items that I could use for Sofia. Nery was out of town at this time too but he made another video to surprise me with at the shower.

October passed by quietly and then Sofie was born at the beginning of November..

And I think I have all the major details of last year covered! From now on I'll be posting about Sofie's milestones (she has already rolled over a few time, but I have yet to get it on video.. I'm trying though! and she is working on some teeth!!) family activities, wedding planning, recipes that I've tried (and whether I was successful or not!) and just whatever strikes my fancy!
