I love getting to spend time with family..

This past weekend, Sofie got to hang out and play with her cousins from Venezuela.  She had met them a few weeks ago, but since it was late at night she fell asleep while the boys played in the pool.. I'll share a few of those pics towards the end..

We were with my Tio Domingo and his family.. He and his wife have two boys together, Andres {11} and Carlos Mario {7}.  We got to spend the afternoon playing in the pool, and the boys, who love to play rough {as boys do!} were so gentle and so sweet with Sofia! It was so cute to watch them!! Andres was playing catch with Sofia and Carlos kept repeating "primo Carlos" to her, trying to get her to say his name! To be completely honest, I was a little nervous about them playing with her, but they seemed to love her almost instantly and had a great time playing with her.. Carlos even helped Sofie walk around by holding her hands.. It was precious!!! {I wish I would have gotten a picture of that!!! Mad at myself.. }

Thankfully for the boys, the Dolphin's football game ended, and Ale came out to play with them.. They got to play rough like they LOVE.. My brother was launching them into the air and they couldn't get enough of it!!

Sadly, my camera battery died after all this play in the pool and I left my charger at home.. wah wah waaaah..

Later in the afternoon, Nery's mom, sister and niece came to spend some time with Sofie.. Abbie {Nery's niece, 8} got to go swimming, and Sofie got to play with her other Abuelita and her God Mother..

{{Nery's mom brought us some gallo pinto and it was soooooo yummy!!!}} 

Around the same time that Nery's family arrived, my cousin Lulu showed up with her Hubby John, and her sister Marie Anne came by a little later and we all got to eat dinner together..

Sofie, being as social as she is, absolutely refused to nap all afternoon and did not want to be left along in her crib to sleep when so many people were around!! She spent the entire day without napping!!!

We had a great time, as we usually do when we get together!! I love these little gatherings and any time  we get to spend quality time with family who isn't normally in the country it's always special!

On 8.24 we had the family over at my mom's and it turned into a pre-hurricane party! My brother went in the pool with the boys and we ordered pizza and hung out under the patio in the rain! It was a nice night!

Yesterday {9.11.12} marked the 19th anniversary of my Lolo, my maternal grandfather's passing.. I was 7 when he passed away and I'm happy to say I have some great memories of him! My favorite memory of him is that he got me a little bunny that lived with them {in Venezuela} but he was mine and I got to take care of him when I visited.  His name was Thumper! He was a magic bunny because he never grew.. I didn't find out, until much later, that every year he would buy a new bunny and he would make sure that the little bunny always looked the same as the one from the year before so that I would believe it was the same Thumper.. I hate to think of what happened to my Thumpers after I left!! 

I miss him, and my Lala, so much and it really breaks my heart that they never got the chance to meet Sofia.. I know they would have loved her so much and spoiled her like crazy..
