I need to get a jump on going over all the Halloween festivities and activities we did with our little love muffin..
First, we went to the Pumpkin Festival in Coconut Grove.. I use the term pumpkin loosely.. There were about 7 pumpkins in the "pumpkin patch" and they were bruised and ugly.. Plus is was hot as all hell.. That was back on September 30th.. We had a good time.. had an arepa, and got some free snacks for Sofie! Sofie was miserable in the heat, we were miserable in the heat.. and needless to say we left after about 45 minutes..

Before I go any further, I need to talk about how I have been spelling the word pumpkin lately! Sofie really likes watching Family Feud, so we have been DVRing for her so we can watch it whenever she feels like it {read: when she's cranky and nothing else is distracting her..}
There was a guest on the show, and her name.. her REAL NAME is Punkin.. PUNKIN!!!! So, I apologize to all of my grammar police friends, but I will be using the word punkin from now on!!!
Just in case you don't believe me..
Her name is Punkin.. PUNKIN!!!!!
Oh, and this made me laugh hysterically!!!!!!
Same episode!!!

Our second visit to a pumpkin patch was with Sofie's titi Patty, uncle Tommy and their fur baby Whiskey.. We went to a punkin patch by CB Smith Park in Pembroke Pines. It was so much fun! They had a lot of beautiful pumpkins and we got a gorgeous one! Along with our big punkin and the little ones that I have as a centerpiece on my kitchen table, we got some great pictures too, thanks to titi Patty!

Titi Patty and I got together the day after our trip to the punkins to carve ours.. We used stencils for the first time and our punkins came out awesome!!!

Since Daddy was in LA when we went to the punkin patch, we decided to take Sofie to the Little Farm in the Redlands. After we got a little lost, and took a detour through a random farm {literally, we were driving off road, through some crops} we finally found the Little Farm.. I wasn't overly impressed with the punkins at the little farm, but we got some nice pics and Sofie got to ride a pony and go into a petting zoo! Along with spending some quality time with her mommy and daddy together! It was a little overcast that day, but it wasn't hot at all.. Quite lovely actually. I want to take her back again, I know she really enjoys the animals!!
I love this face!!!
YAAAY PUNKINS!!!!
She totally has him wrapped around her little finger..
and he loves it!!!
Hi Daddy!
YEHAAAAW!!!
Fearless baby.. Mommy is terrified, but Sofie just went for it!
She's got me wrapped around her finger too..
And I wouldn't have it any other way!!
Sadly we left the Little Farm empty handed {well, not sadly.. those punkins were not worth paying for!} So, we headed to the punkin patch on 104th.. We had fun there too and brought a punkin home for Nery to carve!
Nery's pumpkin came out pretty cool..

11.9
It's only 8 pm but I am so so tired today!!!
Sofia is already sleeping.. She didn't take a nap today during her birthday party prep!!! Her birthday was yesterday {11.8} and we had dinner at my parents' house. Nery's mom made the food and we had cake and cupcakes from Publix.. Delish!!! I don't want to go in to too much detail on this post, but I couldn't post this after her birthday without mentioning it!

So the Sunday before Halloween I took Sofie to the Halloween party at Gymboree.. It was the first time she got to wear her costume made by her Abuelita Norma {Nery's mom}. She was Snow White.. perfect choice for her lovely skin tone and dark hair!
The Gymboree party was a lot of fun.. it seemed like a longer class, but with Halloween specific activities and photo ops!! Her Lala {my momma} came with us to the party because unfortunately Nery had a cold.. Sofie was a little scared at the beginning of the party.. They played a song that had some spooky sounds sounds at the beginning, and I think that along with the number of people and kids in her class it was a little overwhelming for her.. She was holding on to me and looking around with her eyes open wide, taking in everything that was going on around her.. After a few minutes she seemed to relax and enjoyed the rest of the event!

Then, that Wednesday, it was officially Halloween!! I took Sofia to her Lala's office and she got to participate in their costume contest.. She didn't win, but it didn't matter {the prize was to leave work early.. Sofie doesn't need that! hahaha}. She had fun.. They have a family room at my mom's work place, so we got to play for a little while and then we had a girls lunch!!
That night Nery and I took Sofie to International Mall and trick or treated there.. I wanted to take her door to door like I used to, but she was a little fussy and I didn't want to take her too far from home {we were going to go to her titi Patty's neighborhood, but that was too far}. I think she had a good time.. My little Snow White looked very very cute!!
She got to wear her costume once more.. It was the Friday after Halloween at Magic Kingdom for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! We were there for the last day of the Halloween party and I think Sofie had a blast! More about that in her birthday blog, as we were there to kick off her birthday month!!!
All in all Sofia had a fabulous first Halloween and I enjoyed getting her all dressed up and watching her have fun!!!
Hugs!!
