Oh my..
As most of you know already, Sofia got her second and third haircuts yesterday {sigh}
For a few days now I have been thinking that Sofie needed a little trim - especially to her bangs, as they were poking her in the eyes.
Mom.. I have hairs in my face!
So, I mentioned this fact to Nery. He thought that she was fine the way she was, and didn't need the trim. But, I thought he was wrong and we continued to discuss it. After a while, Nery said "if it's just her bangs, why don't we do it? It's just a little snip, and we can save $12!". The idea of saving money and the time it would take to go the salon appealed to me so I said "OK", thinking the worst that could happen is maybe it'll be a little shorter than I wanted..
{Foreshadowing, much?}
I held my poor, defenseless little girl in my arms, while Nery wielded the Scissors of Doom.. All it took was one snip more that half way up her forehead . . . . .

I can feel the hysteria rising again. . .
I FREAKED out!! Freak out is an understatement! I had to laugh to keep myself from crying because I felt the hysterical sobs fighting their way out! My baby's beautiful little hairs had been mutilated! I'm sad just thinking about it!
So. Sad.
I miss her little/long bangs!
So, since we were going to visit with my friend, Patty, I decided we needed to rush Sofia to the kid's hair salon. . it was an EMERGENCY! We picked up Patty and headed over to the salon.. And the salon had no power..
It just wasn't Sofia's day!
Well, I asked the ladies at the salon if they would be able to fix her bangs, even with no power, and thankfully they said yes! Hallelu!
She looks like a floating head
My little angel {with messed up hair} behaved so supremely well in the chair! She sat relatively still, and didn't cry.. She played with her toy and let her hair get cut for the second time that day.. She was curious and wanted to look at the scissors every time they got close to her, but she did great!
Her bangs are WAY too short now, but at least they are even..
She's always happy, no matter what!
Playing with titi Patty's new killy!
She looks like she's related to the Three Stooges..
This morning, we tried to spike up her hair {how she used to have it when she was a newborn} and with a little gel, her hair looks a million times better!
Thankfully {for Nery}, her birthday is still over 2 months away, so there is plenty of time for it to grow back.. I probably would be a widow now had her birthday been any closer..
Just saying! =)
My little family, this morning..
She can rock the Halle Berry look!
I miss her hairs.. I had made my peace with the fact that most kids, at some point in their lives, cut their own hair and look silly for a while {I remember cutting my own bangs, as well as a friend's! lol} but I was not ready to watch my husband, a grown man, butcher my baby's hair!!!
I know it's just hair, and I know it will grow back, and I know that as long as she is healthy and happy I should be thankful, but I just miss her hairs..

We burned up Maria's hair when she was just a little older than Sofie...Believe me THAT was bad...It was al stuck to her head...I am sure we got a beating. She is precious no matter what and as for the two of you, you guys are learning day by day...I have no kids but I am sure you will leave the hair cutting to the professionals for now on!!! =)
ReplyDeleteYou burned her hair?! LMAO! La pobre!! I'm sure I would have beat you guys too!!!
DeleteGirl, learn from our mistake - we sure did!! Never again!!!
