Where, oh where, has my little angel gone.....

I want to know who stole my baby - the one who sleeps the whole night and doesn't cry - and replaced her with this cranky baby that doesn't sleep and cries all night.. I would like to kick that person's ass

We are in the car again tonight..

Last night we drove up and down the turnpike trying to get Sofie to calm down and go to sleep. Yesterday I thought she was excited because her titi Patty had come over for a visit and since Sofie is so social she didn't want to sleep. She's done that before, whenever we are at her abuelos' house and there are a lot of people there she refuses to nap or {if we are there at night} go to sleep.. We had to pretend that Patty left in order to get her to go to sleep.. That worked for about two hours. Then the "night terrors" started.. She woke up around 9.45ish and didn't go back to sleep until 11.45 and that's because we spent at least 45 minutes in the car driving up down the highway. We went as far south as the zoo and as far north as NW 106th.. She was still making some noise as we approached NW 106. We got home and she went right into her crib and slept until 12.30.. I gave her the pacifier and she went right back to sleep..

Until 2.30.. Same thing.. She got her pacifier and right back to sleep..

Until 3.30.. {Sigh} and again.. Gave her the pacifier and she was out.

She slept until about 8.30 this morning.. We had a good day today. She ate her breakfast and lunch and had a good nap after her lunch. When she woke up we played for a while but she was a little cranky so I tried to get her to take another nap but she refused.. No matter what I did for her she refused.. She was screaming bloody murder and would not stay in her crib.  I left a little early for Gymboree today so we could spend some time in the car so she could rest a little before play time, we listened to Sofie's favorite song "Without You" by Keith Urban.

It mellows, and usually turns down her crankiness.. She broke my heart all the way down to Gymboree.. I could hear her sniffling and sighing the entire way there.. But, she got to rest.. which made me happy.

She wasn't her usual laid back self during play time {she was hoarding toys and not sharing} but she was still happy, and playing, and she had a good time - I think..

Playing with Dawn

We got home, she had a bath and her dinner and when I tried to put her in her crib it was like she was laying on glass.. she was screaming and crying, turning red and over all killing me! She wouldn't take her tete, she wouldn't lay down, or sit down or anything! I tried rocking her, bouncing her, singing to her for about half an hour and nothing worked..

So that's us.. sitting in the car.. driving up and down the turnpike again.. Thankfully tonight we only drove for 30 minutes {as opposed to last nights 45 minutes}.. It is now 11.45 pm and she is still sleeping.. She's been sleeping since 10.. Hopefully she will sleep through the night.. fingers, toes and eyes crossed..

I just bought Dr. Sears "The Baby Sleep Book: The Complete Guide to a Good Night's Rest for the Whole Family" and I will start reading it tomorrow. I have so much more empathy now for parents who's babies don't sleep.. The owner of the nail place I go to has a daughter who is a few months older than Sofie and she has yet to sleep through the night.. I know they have it worse than me {at least Sofie sleeps in her crib, their daughter sleeps/wakes up in their bed} but I'm getting an inkling of what that's like. I think Nery and I have been spoiled for the last 10 months.

I'm not sure if what she is going through now is teething, growing pains, sore muscles {from all the walking and squatting she is doing now} night terrors, separation anxiety/mammitis or what, but I hope this phase ends quickly and I get my sleeping baby back!

Hugs
